Who we are
The Alcuin College Store is run by the Alcuin College Student Association Committee. We are independent from the University of York and and the University of York Student’s Union (YUSU), and a exist as a not-for-profit unincorporated association. All revenues generated are reinvested into college events and facilities for the direct benefit of Alcuin College members.
Data Collection
We only collect and temporarily store the data you provide to us, which in most cases will be your name and email address that you fill out when completing an order. This ensures we can contact you when the order is ready for collection. We do our best to keep your data secure and follow industry standard security practices, but no I.T system is 100% secure and our website is not an exception. If you would rather place an order directly, please email [email protected].
We have taken the view that given many students’ email accounts will be disabled after they complete their programme of study, the consequences of any exposed data in the event of a breach are likely to be minimal in the long term and have limited negative impact on any individual student. This does not mean we have compromised on security practices, but we have raised this point to increase confidence in students using our systems on the basis that should the worst happen, potential consequences are limited.

As a small team of volunteers, we will welcome and appreciate any feedback relating to the security of our services, and encourage those who come across any vulnerabilities to report them.
We do not process any kind of payments through this website, and you should not enter any sensitive details such as card numbers, expirary dates, etc.
